CHICAGO — A Chicago man is facing a handful of charges in connection with a Far North Side shooting that left one person dead and another injured.
Authorities say 30-year-old Deandre Loveless is facing three felony charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
According to Chicago police, the charges stem from the suspect’s alleged role in a deadly shooting that unfolded in the 6900 block of North Glenwood Avenue, in the city’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
Police say Loveless, who lives in the same neighborhood where the alleged shooting occurred, opened fire on a 33-year-old man in the area, leaving him fatally wounded. Another victim, a 41-year-old man, was also hit by gunfire during the incident.
Authorities did not provide details on when the alleged shooting occurred.
Loveless was later taken into custody in the 1100 block of South Oakley Boulevard, just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Authorities say the suspect appeared in court on Friday for a detention hearing.
Police have not provided details on what led up to the shooting or identified the victim killed.
