Kelly Osbourne recently spoke about how public her father Ozzy Osbourne’s health battles have been, saying he hasn’t had any medical privacy while living with his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
During the latest episode of “The Osbournes Podcast” the 39-year-old mentioned Kate Middleton and the countless conspiracy theories on social media surrounding her disappearance before she publicly revealed her cancer diagnosis, using that situation as an example of what her father had to put up with.
“This brings up a wider point. Medical privacy, I think, is really really important and everyone deserves [it],” Osbourne said. “And I don’t feel as though Dad has ever been afforded his medical privacy throughout this whole time.”
“They wait for him to go into the doctor’s office and take pictures,” she added.
Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and Kelly Osbourne’s mother, Sharon Osbourne, 71, then interjected and spoke about an incident when she took her husband to a doctor’s appointment and yelled at a man for who was following them.
“I lost my cool with the guy. And I never usually do with photographers but we were in an underground car park and he followed us in, watched us, the big cameras came out and I just said, ‘Leave him some dignity. And he didn’t and I just said, ‘Shame on you. What do you want? He’s going to see his doctor.’”
Ozzy Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003. He’s had four spinal surgeries, and his last surgery took place in September 2023.
During another episode of the podcast, he mentioned how hard the numerous surgeries have been on him.
“Tomorrow I have my final surgery on my neck,” he said at the time. “Which it is gonna be the final surgery because I can’t do it anymore. Regardless of the way it ends up after tomorrow, I’m not doing it anymore. I can’t.”
Back in October, he did mention doing tai chi helps to cope with the symptoms of Parkinson’s.
“It’s the balance that helps me. Well, I want to get back, you know, and all the options are open for me. I’ve only had two lessons so I’m not really a master yet. But I’m finally relaxing,” he said.
