Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might have played at Manchester United yesterday but his future remains uncertain really.
The Danish midfielder has still played his part under Ange Postecoglou and remains the model pro. But he also knows he’s not first choice and is only being selected right now out of necessity.
Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club in January. Clubs like Juventus and Ajax have been heavily linked, while David Ornstein had suggested Premier League clubs would also be keen.
However, as of now, it doesn’t look like Hojbjerg will be going anywhere.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could stay at Tottenham
Speaking about Hojbjerg’s situation on his Here We Go Podcast last night, Fabrizio Romano had an update on where things currently stand with the midfielder.
“We know the situation of Pierre-Hojbjerg is open. We heard many rumours from Italian clubs but from what I’m hearing right now, it is not happening for Napoli and it is not happening for Juventus. That’s why for Tottenham, at the moment, it is still too early to say who is going to be their new midfielder,” Romano said.
Hojbjerg was a £15m signing for Spurs back in 2020. Since then, he’s been used regularly but fans have felt he is limited in a creative sense at times.

A good squad player
Sometimes, a good team and squad is not always just about the star names who get the headlines. You need others behind the scenes and players who go about their business with no fuss. Hojbjerg seems like one of those players.
Right now, with the amount of injuries at the club, selling Hojbjerg be counter-productive.
The Danish midfielder did well against Manchester United yesterday and given it’s the January window, Spurs will find it hard to get someone better in at short notice.
Hojbjerg, then, should be told he’s going nowhere this month at least.
