Former White House chief of staff for the Biden administration Ron Klain discussed restoring trust in government at the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service. He said President Biden is trying to restore trust by delivering results for the American people. He also discussed other matters, including the controversial withdrawal from Afghanistan, saying it was “the most successful humanitarian evacuation in the history of the world,” with 120,000 people evacuated in two weeks. Mr. Klain served as chief of staff when Democrats controlled both the White House and Congress, from 2021-23. He took several questions from Georgetown students after being interviewed by the institute’s executive director, Mo Elleithee. close
