Former President Trump would prefer that the Federal Reserve not lower interest rates prior to the election. Why, you ask? It might be good for the Democrats. But, remember the Federal Reserve is supposed to be an apolitical organization. Was it good for Democrats when they raised interest rates because of inflation? Probably not, but it was deemed to be the best way to fight inflation. They felt it was right for the U.S. economy and all of us in the long run.
Our government, including elected and appointed officials, should be running the country for the good of all U.S. citizens. Of course we can’t always agree on everything, so compromise must be part that process. If we want a healthy economy, we must allow the Federal Reserve to act how and when they deem necessary. If their actions produce negative results, then we/they evaluate and consider other actions. This is how a healthy country can work. No name-calling needed!
