Murder charges have been filed against a man weeks after a woman’s dead body was found in the trunk of a burned vehicle.
Authorities say 70-year-old Rodney Okeith has been charged in the death of 58-year-old Patrice Armstrong. Police say the Los Angeles resident was arrested on Feb. 28 by the Tulare Police Department in Visalia.
Armstrong was found dead last month in the trunk of a burning vehicle in the 1100 block of Century Boulevard in South L.A. Police were originally called with reports of a car crash around 2 a.m. on Feb. 15. But when they arrived, they found the deceased Armstrong’s body in the trunk of the car.
Authorities arrested 44-year-old Branden Bayilynn Howard the day after the incident for suspicion of murder. No updates have been provided on whether Howard remains in custody.
Okieth is being held for murder with bail set at $3 million.
