WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Purdue President Mung Chiang is taking on a new role.
Chiang is joining the board of directors for the U.S. Department of Energy Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation.
He was appointed to the position today by the U.S. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm.
The Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation is the Department of Energy’s first agency-related foundation.
It’s authorized by the CHIPS and Science Act signed in 2022.
The program’s goal to increase the commercialization of previous and new energy technologies in the U.S.
