Bush Library to host former WH Chief of Staff for President’s Day event

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – President’s Day is approaching and the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum will host a special guest to celebrate.

Former White House Chief of Staff Secretary Andrew Card will discuss the life and legacy of President George H.W. Bush, the importance of presidential elections, and the future of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Center on Thursday, Feb. 22.

The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. in the rotunda, and Secretary Card will begin speaking in the orientation theater at 6:30 p.m.

The event is being held in conjunction with the 41@100: A Celebration of George H.W. Bush celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of President Bush’s birth.

The Presidents’ Day event is free, but seating is limited and reservations are strongly encouraged.

Back by popular demand, Dr. Jim Pennington will bring his Chemistry Road Show to the library.

Dr. Pennington ignites imaginations and engages students using chemistry. Students and adults alike will be wowed by fire, explosions, weird polymers, and super cold materials.

There will be two sessions on Thursday, February 22 at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

The Annual Easter Celebration, one of the most anticipated events of spring, will be held at the George H.W. Presidential Library and Museum on Saturday, March 23, from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

Modeled after the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, the event is hosted by the Bush Library and Museum in partnership with the College Station Police Department.

Activities at the free event will be available for children aged nine and under, and will include an Easter egg hunt, carnival games, face painting, door prizes, balloon animals, complimentary refreshments and photos with the Easter Bunny.
